BSD Parents and Community Members:
You are invited to take a survey to give input on BSD Facilities Strategic Planning. Participate in our Community Meeting on Thursday, May 7th from 5:30 - 7:00 and/or take the survey here.
The following is some background and key points for the intent of the BSD Facilities Strategic Plan:
- Identify and establish long term goals for the District’s facilities. This includes potential improvements, alterations, additions, reconstruction, new construction, etc.
- This would include the buildings, grounds, utilities and infrastructure, equipment, and furnishings.
- Develop a specific District Master Plan that includes the required aspects identified by the California Department of Education, for potential participation in the States Prop 2 School Facilities Program (SFP). This could include grants for new construction, modernizations, or other qualified projects as identified in the Prop 2 structure.
- The Strategic Plan will also include the development of District “Facilities Standards” for various building systems, materials, furnishings, equipment, etc.
- The Strategic Plan will also include the development of Facilities Alterations Standards, which may include formalizing recent systems, and new or modified Board policies for the Sites to follow when requesting or proposing alterations.
